McCloud River - California
Fishing Vacations
McCloud River is California’s premier trout fishery. The Nature Conservancy water offers the best product around. Most of us have caught McCloud trout, only we don’t know it. This river was the source of those initial rainbow eggs that were gathered in 1874 and shipped to the East and Midwest. By the eggs being raised in hatcheries, rainbow trout to anglers were known as only feisty native brookies. McCloud River holds a combination of big browns and rainbows, along with spectacularly wooded canyon water, that makes the McCloud so special. Species you will find are Rainbow and brown. Your best angling methods are spin, bait, and fly-fishing.

Potomac River, North Branch - Maryland
Fishing Vacations
Potomac River, North Branch, destined to be one of the best tail-water fisheries in the country and less than three hours from Washington, D.C. The river has surrounding cliffs and wilderness to gaze upon. The water faintly chalky lime green color matches the South Fork of the Snake, and here as well as there, you’ll find cutthroat and browns. Both are tail-waters and superb fisheries, and floating them is the most effective way to get to the fish. At Pap’s, a wonderful country store-cum-tackle shop at Barnum, the best selling products are for fishing. Species you will find are Brook, brown, cutthroat, rainbow.
